Oproep tot censuur
Wat kennelijk niet in het scenario past, is berichtgeving uit het kamp van de vijand. Vandaar dat verslaggever Max Westerman gisteravond in het RTL-Nieuws wist te melden dat de Amerikaanse pers heeft beloofd om de boodschappen van bin Laden niet meer integraal uit te zenden. Voor de landverraders die meteen aan censuur moesten denken, had Bush bedacht dat de toespraken van bin Laden wel eens gecodeerde berichten zouden kunnen bevatten*. 'The US television networks have agreed to censor themselves when broadcasting Osama bin Laden's publicity videos, in response to a request from an administration increasingly anxious that it is losing the propaganda war. In an unprecedented accord, the five major networks, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox News Channel, said they would limit their coverage of Bin Laden's videos [...]', schrijft The Guardian.
'The media are facing an "unprecedented" degree of control of information from the US and UK military and defence agencies, according to Sky's head of news, Nick Pollard.' 'The secrecy on the part of defence agencies reflects the perceived importance of keeping military information a secret', aldus Pollard. MSNBC heeft het over Bush en 'the [Bush] family penchant [neiging] for secrecy'. Waar komt die drang naar geheimzinnigheid vandaan? Een van de wortels ligt in het geheime genootschap Skull & Bones waar Bush en zijn vader en diens vader lid van zijn. Door het strikt geheime karakter van het genootschap, is het vaak gebruikt om vers bloed te recruteren voor andere geheimzinnige genootschappen, zoals de CIA.

Oproep tegen censuur
De feitelijke opvolger van Napster, ofwel Kazaa/Morpheus, schrijft in het onlinegedeelte van zijn softwareprogramma: 'Have you realized that most of the world's Visual News is filtered, and provided from only a few sources? * Net als in de Maffe Maniak, de favoriete episode van Bush van de Suske en Wiske-reeks, waarin een wapenhandelaar het heeft over madeliefjes als hij bommen en granaten bedoelt. MSNBC: 'Bush is not a newspaper and magazine reader. Nor, for that matter, is he an inveterate TV news watcher. (ESPN [het sportkanaal] is another story.)'.
