Waarschuwingen vooraf bij aanslagen
op de VS in 2001, 1993 en 1998

Ter inleiding: Waar je niks meer over hoort, zijn de berichten over (bom)explosies, zoals gemeld in Trouw in een overzicht op 12 september 2001:

'Dag van terreurdaden
Overzicht

[...]
09:58 Grote explosie onderin het WTC.
[...]
10:22 In de buurt van het ministerie van buitenlandse zaken in Washington ontploft een zware autobom.
[...]
10:40 In de buurt van het WTC-complex doet zich een nieuwe explosie voor.
[...].'

Zoals bekend is al eerder een aanslag gepleegd op het WTC in New York, namelijk op 26 februari 1993. Op 28 oktober van dat jaar stond er een artikel in de New York Times waarin een informant beweerde dat de FBI vantevoren van de aanslag op de hoogte was geweest.

'Law-enforcement officials were told that terrorists were building
a bomb that was eventually used to blow up the World Trade Center,
and they planned to thwart the plotters by secretly substituting
harmless powder for the explosives, an informer said after
the blast.

The informer was to have helped the plotters build the bomb
and supply the fake powder, but the plan was called off by
an F.B.I. supervisor who had other ideas about how the informer,
Emad Salem, should be used, the informer said.

The account, which is given in the transcript of hundreds of
hours of tape recordings that Mr. Salem secretly made of his
talks with law-enforcement agents, portrays the authorities as
being in a far better position than previously known to foil
the February 26th bombing of New York City's tallest towers.

The transcript quotes Mr. Salem as saying that he wanted to
complain to F.B.I. Headquarters in Washington about the
Bureau's failure to stop the bombing, but was dissuaded by
an agent identified as John Anticev.'

Bestáát Anticev eigenlijk? Volgens CNN wel. Sterker, hij is betrokken bij de afhandeling door de FBI van een andere bomaanslag op de VS. Dit CNN-artikel gaat over Anticev die vertelt over zijn verhoor van een van de plegers van de aanslag op 7 augustus 1998 op de Amerikaanse ambassade in Kenia. De ondervraagde aanslagpleger zou onderdeel zijn van Al-Qaeda, de groep van Osama bin Laden.

Ook hier weer (net als bij de recente aanslag op de VS) zou bin Laden vantevoren hebben gewaarschuwd voor een aanval: 'Although hindsight is 20-20 [ofwel terugblikken met perfect zicht], the embassy attacks did not come without warning. On June 12, 1998, less than two months before the two bombings the U.S. State Department warned that accused terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden was reportedly threatening "some type of terrorist action in the next several weeks." [...] In addition, on August 4, 1998, three days before the attack, the Egyptian Islamic Jihad -- a militant group that has allegedly joined forces with bin Laden -- issued a statement threatening to retaliate against America for its involvement rounding up three of its members helping Muslim forces fight in Albania. In a statement the group announced, "We wish to inform the Americans...of preparations for a response which we hope they read with care, because we shall write it with the help of God in the language they understand."'

Ook waarschuwingen voorafgaande aan de aanslag op 911, ofwel 11 september 2001, as we het World Information Center mogen geloven. Het WIC is een club van heel rechtse christenen. Een luisteraar naar een van radiouitzendingen, schreef: 'A U.S. Navy serviceman stationed on an aircraft carrier called his family in the United States well PRIOR to Tuesday's horrendously catastrophic events in New York City and at the Pentagon, and ALERTED THEM that "something big" was about to go down in a major urban area!'
